Novel Know How: Activities for any fictional text
Extend and deepen your students understanding of the novel. These open-ended, engaging activities are fun and versatile. Presented as task cards they cover areas of: comprehension and detail; language and vocabulary; artist and illustrator, and reflecting and responding. This is a great way to increase students' comprehension and it offers them opportunities to explore the novel at many levels.

Janet Bruce
Janet Bruce has taught at all levels of the primary school in Australia. As a curriculum coordinator, her primary responsibilities were to develop the school-based English curriculum. Janet developed the guided reading programme while teaching lower primary students and adapted it when teaching other grade levels. As coordinator of the Schools Student Welfare Support Group she facilitated group discussion between parents and teachers of children experiencing social difficulties to develop achieveable goals and practical ideas to assist the children.
