Exceeding the Standards - Revised third edition

Planning for continuous quality improvement

Exceeding the Standards - Third Edition is your guide to NQS - the National Quality Standard. The NQS is a major part of the National Quality Framework. The early childhood education (ECE) resource is for those ECE centres that want to go beyond the NQS requirements - those looking to exceed them.

Exceeding the Standards comprehensively covers the NQS Quality Area 1 to 7 and the associated elements. This edition explains how you can gain an exceeding in your assessment and rating and the ways this differs from the achieving rating. It also outlines the exceeding themes in the NQS. The updates to the child safe standards, adopted in Victoria in 2023 (relevant to all ECE), are included.

The resource provides a multitude of helpful documents to stimulate your thinking and create opportunities for critical reflection.
